VODACOM M-PESA GOES ANOTHER MILE!

• Its customers with CRDB accounts to access accounts via mobile phone
Vodacom customers with accounts with CRDB Bank are now able to keep or to move money from their accounts to their mobile phones via Vodacom M-Pesa service. The move to launch this service brings a solution towards a serious challenges faced by Bank customers such as standing on a long queue and travelling long distance to visit their bank branches to be able to access their accounts for depositing and withdrawing.


The introduction of the service will make the process of customers withdrawing and depositing money to their account at CRDB bank easy through mobile phone anywhere in the country and at any time without physical contact with bank. “This initiative came very timely and that we are very optimistic that the problems of standing on queue neither travelling will be no longer for a M-PESA customers who are also CRDB customers since principal transactions of bank – withdrawal and depositing can be done via a mobile phone.” Said Vodacom Managing Director Mr. Rene Meza.


“Using M-PESA agents network scattered every corner of the country, Vodacom Tanzania a leading mobile phone telecommunications firm in the country proves its commitment of bringing innovative services in the market that really connect and changing people’s lives through mobile phone technologies” He added. Emphasizing on this, Mr. Meza said the service is for all Vodacom customers who have CRDB accounts, regardless to their account status. “This service is for all Tanzanians who have CRDB accounts and are Vodacom customers and registered with M-PESA service”. He said.


This is another first from Vodacom, partnership with CRDB will bring banking services on finger tips of mobile phone users and save M-PESA customers of their valuable time to attend to other activities.
